JUST a DROP

Moved by the plight of so many children throughout the world, where clean water is still a luxury, not a right, Just a Drop was founded 1998 as a dedicated water aid charity with the aim to address the shocking statistic that a child dies every 20 seconds from a water-related disease.
The charity raises funds to build wells, bore holes, pipelines, hand pumps and runs health and sanitation training programmes to offer these children the chance of a healthy life.

To date, Just a Drop has delivered over 150 projects in 31 countries, supporting approximately 1.5 million people.

WATER FACTS
  • Over 768 million people in the world do not have access to clean, safe water
  • Around 2.5 billion people do not have access to adequate sanitation
  • 443 million school days are lost each year due to water-related illness 
  • More people in the world own mobile phones than have access to a toilet
  • The average distance a woman or child walks to collect water is 6km
  • Diseases attributable to dirty water and poor sanitation currently result in the deaths of more children globally that AIDS, malaria and measles combined
